Falling off the cart
Apples spill into the road
And I empathize
Sometimes the road is bumpy
Let gravity take the wheel
Falling off the cart
Apples spill into the road
And I empathize
Sometimes the road is bumpy
Let gravity take the wheel
This our first dinner
Together after a /year/
Such exquisite taste
Still distant and cold outside
But my heart two times fuller
Come sit with me here
Among the Nissaka tea
Brimming with Kindness
It is these moments of pause
Why we walk the Tokaido
On this day I pause
Reflecting on the past year
Sizing up the next
Planning for what is to come
And the world keeps on turning
What a summer child!
And yet, these words still ring true.
For every evening
The gates of reality
Blends and bends towards soaring flight.
May these memories,
Fill you with joy, not sadness,
For they are not lost,
Just tucked away for a time,
To be remembered again.
Here on the West shores,
Where Pacific Ocean meets,
A Bay side City,
We shelter in place waiting,
Wishing walks in empty streets.
Day two I waited,
Listened to the alleys’ song,
And observed the sun,
Four walls, a ceiling, and floor,
Yearning for that open door.
The start of something,
Brand new for me, but perhaps
Not so new to you,
But know it gives me comfort,
To have you on this journey.
Take me by the hand
Lead me down the unknown trail
Straight into the East
Where we will picnic among
Golden sun and leaves alike
