Arise before dawn
Wrapped in a blanket of heat
The pathway well worn
In Pale concrete carpeting
Broken by gifts of music.
Arise before dawn
Wrapped in a blanket of heat
The pathway well worn
In Pale concrete carpeting
Broken by gifts of music.
Is this goodbye?
I do not wish it to be,
Alas not my choice,
May jazz always follow you,
Wherever your path may lead
Dearest Sequoia,
Tell me that you are happy,
That joy is the key,
In your daily music, with –
Laughter as the melody.
Autumn lullaby
What verse are you singing us?
Will you sing of trees
Swaying in the wind’s embrace
Blushing at a secret joke?
“Oh good night,” I sing,
To a rising, merry moon,
Her silence greets me,
A full mirrored reflection,
Dazzling the waters edge.
Dawn breaks the silence
Light pink clouds laced yellow orange
Birds rejoice in song
Chasing away the starlight
With warm winds beneath their wings
The sun sets beyond,
A yawning horizon line,
Capped white waves rolling,
Sprinkled with a sailors song,
For swimming fish and starlight.
As the song concludes,
A hush hovers in the air,
It is so quiet,
Your heart begins to panic,
That is when the crowd goes wild!
Down by the old stream,
We sang our songs by starlight,
Built boats out of bark,
Leaves, flowers, and a candle
To carry our wish to sea.
Without sheet music
Chimes begin their melody
In an Autumn wood
Where maple ballerinas
Perform intricate ballets.
